CSAS and Colorado Outward Bound – Silverton Students and Staff Complete Final Touch on Bluepoint Cleanup Project

 

After quite literally carrying out some two tons of various forms of metal waste, almost all of which was recycled (see previous years' Diary entries), and gathering and piling hundreds of feet of decayed snow fencing into two large piles, burned in place after the first snows of the fall of 2005, Colorado Outward Bound – Silverton students and staff returned during the summer of 2006 to retrieve the wire material leftover from that snow fencing. A multi-year effort by dozens of COBS students, this major cleanup was completed with enthusiasm and diligence reflecting the best ‘service' traditions of Outward Bound, leaving public lands in better shape than before.
