| SBSG Tailrace Completed in September 2005 |

|
A period of very low flows in early September made it possible to divert water away from the unfinished center of the broad-crested weir's tailrace and Michael Barton completed the mortared rock work. The tailrace produces smooth, non-turbulent flow on the downstream side of the weir, preventing undercutting of the weir and 'pulling' water over the weir's crest. |
Michael Barton admiring his work after normal flow through the weir was restored.
