CSAS friend Mark Rikkers in front of a very small but "true" slab avalanche, roughly 1 m2 in area and 3 cm thick. This documented avalanche may represent an example of the lowest order of magnitude for slab avalanches (at a volume of 0.03 m3), many orders of magnitude smaller than large Himalayan events containing millions of cubic meters!
