Admiring the Delicate Effects of Wind Erosion, Small Slab Avalanche.

CSAS friend Mark Rikkers points out the remnants of coyote tracks revealed by wind erosion.

CSAS friend Mark Rikkers in front of a very small but "true" slab avalanche, roughly 1 m2 in area and 3 cm thick. This documented avalanche may represent an example of the lowest order of magnitude for slab avalanches (at a volume of 0.03 m3), many orders of magnitude smaller than large Himalayan events containing millions of cubic meters!
